Father's Day

Father's Day this year was little less about Sanjay and more about our families. This year we decided to spend the day with our families instead of just the three of us. For breakfast we went to Sanjay's parents' house. We stayed for a few hours and then we went to my sister's house. It is such a huge difference going from Sanjay's parents' house, where Ryan is the center of attention, being the only grandchild, and things are pretty calm and quiet, then going to my sister's house where Ryan is one of five grandkids and things are pretty chaotic. Although the Ferraros did not join us this Father's Day, there was still a lot going on with the three kids that were there. Actually, it is the two boys, Ben and Ryan, that make things interesting. They are just boys being boys, but the noise level is high, trucks and cars are whizzing across the floor, they are running around, and sooner or later one of them ends up getting hurt. Ryan, running from room to room on the hardwood floors, slipped and landed on one of Ben's fire trucks. Unfortunately, the fire truck won that battle and Ryan walked away with a huge bump, bruise and eventually a scab on his forehead. Other than that, they got along well as Ben assumed the big brother role watching carefully over Ryan. As we headed back home Sunday evening, Sanjay and I agreed that this was a great way to spend Father's Day. It is rare that we see both families in one day, but this time it worked out perfectly!
